The District within the Commissariot of Dunblane comprised the following parishes in Perthshire, viz. :—Aberfoyle, Abernethy, Auchterarder, Balquhidder, Blackford, Callander, Comrie, Culross, Dron, Dunblane, Dunning, Findo-Gask, Fowlis-Wester, Glendevon, Kilmadock, Kincardine, Kippen (part of), Lecropt (part of), Logie, Monzie, Monzievaird, Muthill, Port of Monteith, St. Madoes, Trinity-Gask and Tulliallan, and the parish of Tillicoultry in Clackmannan.

During the Commonwealth a Register of Testaments was kept at Perth for the County, and of this record, the Testaments of which are included in

this Index, there have been preserved three volumes, viz.:

1. 29th June 1652 to 20th November 1655.

2. 20th May 1656 to 10th June 1659.

3. July 1656 to June 1659.

In the earlier volumes the Testaments are not dated, and reference is made to the volume and folio e.g. I. 59. When a date is given in brackets it is the real date of the Testament, the other date that at which it will be found.

The Testament of Rob Roy Macgregor and his son Coll will be found under the name of Campbell at their respective dates of 6th February 1735 and 18th December 1735.
